Preventive Dentistry

Preventive Dentistry is the area of dentistry concerned with preventing dental problems before they become costly or painful, or both. A large part of preventive dentistry is patient education. This includes learning the proper at-home dental care, nutrition, etc. Another aspect of preventive dentistry is oral hygiene through regular dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, mouthguards and more.

Emergency Dental Care

We recognize that dental emergency situations do arise and at Summit Dental Excellence we will do our best to respond to your problem promptly. Whether it is something as simple as a tooth filling or a more complicated procedure requiring a cosmetic dentist, we can provide you with assistance. If the problem arises when the offices are closed, our answering service will forward your message to the dentist.

Six Month Smiles®

Are you someone who should have had braces when you were younger and now you are living with a smile you don’t feel good about? Many adults spend their entire lives covering their mouths when they laugh, smile or talk. They have crooked or spaced teeth and they feel embarrassed. They think there isn’t a solution. As an adult, they don’t want to wear metal braces for years. Now, at Summit Dental Excellence, there is an effective, safe and affordable solution that fits your adult lifestyle. Six Month Smiles is a revolutionary combination of proven orthodontic techniques, technology and innovation. With the Six Month Smiles system, Dr. Summit Dental Excellence Dentists utilizes nearly invisible clear braces to gently straighten and align your front teeth in just six months. Crooked or spaced teeth? The solution you’ve been waiting for is here at Summit Dental Excellence. If you get started now, you could get a smile you can be proud of—in just six months!

ClearCorrect

Having straight teeth is important for both health and appearance. Not only does Summit Dental Excellence offer traditional metal braces, but also newer and subtler varieties. One option is ClearCorrect, a unique new treatment option. Rather than using wires and brackets, ClearCorrect uses custom-made and removable aligner trays that move teeth into place discreetly and comfortably. The aesthetic aspect is important because having a smile you love can affect your happiness and self-esteem.

Crowns

Crowns cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth left. It can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that’s already broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped as well, or to cover a dental implant. A crown can make your tooth stronger and improve its appearance.

Fillings

At Summit Dental Excellence, we offer traditional and tooth-colored fillings. Tooth-colored material can be used both as fillings and to repair defects in the teeth. Because they are tooth-colored, it’s difficult to distinguish them from natural teeth. These fillings are often used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important. They can be used on the back teeth as well, depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.

Sealants

Sealants are highly effective in preventing tooth decay on the biting surfaces of chewing teeth. A sealant is a simple procedure in which Dr. Lehman places a clear or tooth-colored acrylic “coating” onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively “seals” the deep grooves where decay is most likely to begin. This technique is usually done on permanent molars as soon as they have come in enough to be sealed. Sometimes primary molars have grooves deep enough to require sealing, as well. At less than half the cost of conventional fillings and without any anesthetics or drilling, sealants are one of the most important preventive tools Summit Dental Excellence offers. Braces

Traditional braces can provide treatment for a wide range of orthodontic problems, including bad bites, crooked or crowded teeth and misalignment. Braces consist of metal brackets that are attached to the teeth and fitted with an arched wire that gently shifts your teeth into the desired position. Having straight teeth doesn’t just mean a beautiful smile; a normal bite reduces the potential for tooth decay, gum disease, tooth loss, poor speech or chewing and jaw problems. Thanks to advances in orthodontic materials, treatment times for traditional braces are shorter than in the past. Traditional metal braces are often the least expensive option for achieving a straight and healthy smile!

Dental Implants

Dental implants are man-made replacements for natural teeth. The implants themselves are artificial tooth roots anchored in the gum or jawbone, on which replacement teeth are permanently secured. Because implanted teeth are fixed in the mouth—rather than being removable, like dentures—they allow a return to the comfort and function of natural teeth. Increased chewing ability means you can enjoy more nutritious foods, contributing to your overall health and well-being.
In short, dental implants improve the quality of your life. They can improve your appearance, boost your self-confidence and allow you to speak with greater clarity.

Teeth Whitening

Now you can have significantly whiter teeth in a matter of a few days using advanced teeth whitening techniques. Both comfortable and affordable, our teeth whitening procedure involves you wearing a specially crafted tray for a few hours in order to achieve a surprising difference in your smile!

Sedation Dentistry

Wake up to a more healthy and beautiful smile with amazingly comfortable sedation dentistry. We care for patients who:

  • are afraid of needles and shots.
  • have had bad experiences before.
  • have not been to the dentist in a long time.
  • always gag when having dental work done.
  • just can’t seem to get numb.
  • feel their teeth are too far gone for traditional treatment.

Intraoral Camera

Ever been curious about what goes on during your dental care visits? With our intraoral cameras, you don´t have to be curious anymore! An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. This tiny device is a video camera that moves around inside the mouth and generates a tooth-by-tooth video exam of the teeth. With the images produced by the intraoral camera, patients can see each of their teeth and dentists can indicate problems such as broken teeth, plaque, decay, gum disease, defective fillings and so on. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
